The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of Virginians in countless ways. Parents and caregivers are overwhelmed. Older adults may feel anxious and isolated. And people of all ages and circumstances are struggling to stay healthy and adapt to new economic realities. Chesterfield county health department In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Chesterfield, County Health Department is hosting a series of free testing events throughout October. Free indoor and walking test events will take place on the following days and locations:

Monday: Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26 – 4 p.m. to 5 p.m

 Tuesday: Oct. 6, 13, 20, and 27 – 4 p.m. to 5 p.m

Thursday: Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 – 4 p.m. to 5 p.m

No reservation required. Additional test events are pending and will be announced once completed. Residents experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, as defined by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are strongly encouraged to participate in free indoor testing events. Chesterfield County Department of Mental Health Services:

The Department of Mental Health Care Services of Chesterfield County (CCMHSS) provides behavioral health services, developmental disabilities, and substance use for Chesterfield County residents. Services include emergency services, case management, outpatient counseling, and psychiatric care. Services are also available for infants and young children through prevention and early intervention programs. Prevention Services has considerable expertise on topics such as parenting, divorce adjustment, and stress management. Parenting courses are evidence-based, with established curricula and are usually 6 to 8 sessions. To help parents with individual concerns about their child, Prevention Services offers one to three free consultations with a professional specialist in parenting and child/adolescent development.
