When we look at all the protests and riots around the world it seems that humans really like to get into big groups and go crazy; thus, the famous line; “beware of the mass mobs,” sounds like some pretty decent advice doesn’t it? Indeed, I remember the LA Riots and really they were much Worse than those I saw in Tehran.
And I also realize that if unemployment keeps up and large metro areas are at a flash point, we could see more riots like that in the future. Additionally, with a populist (some say activist) president, it could easily happen here in the US, maybe not protesting due to election fraud but perhaps over economic issues. Of course, the flash points in Iran did have a bit to do with the poor state of the economy there currently.
Fact is, and I saw the people on my TV in Tehran, and they sure looked like Americans out there in the streets. And yet, if we had protestors in LA, and they started burning stuff, causing problems, the “riot police” would have come out to control them right?
During the World Bank Summits, G8, G20, there are protestors doing outrageous stuff, and the authorities crack down on them, just like they did in Tehran and throughout the Iranian nation-state. Riots and protests happen all over the world when groups of people unite like that.
No one knows who shot that girl during the protests in Iran, it could have been someone from a roof top. Who? Why? Was it police, an enraged fundamentalist supporting the status quo who saw a girl without head dress in pants instead of a Burka? Was it staged, was it real, who shot her, who pulled the trigger?
Needless to say, these types of events are going to become more common in the future, in all nations, and we are going to have to expect them.
Some riots in some places like Iran, will be for a just cause, some riots elsewhere could be merely misguided conspiracy theorists, or folks supported by a foreign nation within another. Please consider all this.
