Unknown assailants attack Cairo tent camp

Protesters opposed to Egypt’s new Islamist-backed constitution have been camped outside Mohammed Mursi’s residence for weeks.

“It was a well-organised attack,” said a witness,”the attackers are well-known. They went for the clinic, that has been burnt to the ground. We know who these people are.”

The sit-in outside the palace was begun on the 4th of December by opponents of President Mohammed Morsi who want the new consitution annulled. The document has deeply polarised Egyptian society.
