The Chinese government has condemned America’s new sanctions against Iran. Beijing has called for the resumption of negotiations between P-five plus one with Tehran over its nuclear energy program.
Spokeswoman Hua Chunying was addressing reporters the day after US president Barack Obama signed into law yet more sanctions aimed at forcing Iran to halt its nuclear program. The new sanctions target sectors of the Iranian economy including state broadcasting.
The measures came after satellite providers in Asia and Europe, under pressure from the US, agreed to take Iranian television channels, including Press TV and its sister channel Hispan TV, off the air.
