India seeks Iran crude ‘Waiver’

Export of crude oil from Iran is likely to continue. Indian officials are quite certain of securing further wavier on international sanctions from United States.

The current waiver to India, China and South Korea ends in December.

India after extension of US sanctions waiver

The announcement for the new waivers from Washington DC is expected on 7 December.

India received a 180-day waiver in June from US sanctions that targeted financial institutions after it reduced its imports from Iran.

The illegal US-engineered sanctions were imposed based on the unfounded accusations that Iran is pursuing a non-civilian nuclear program.

Tehran rejects all the allegations saying it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Tehran still exports about 1 million barrels per day.
